August 9th Sun The Hobbit 4:00pm THG Prerelease Magic: The Gathering Tournament 2026-08-09 16:00:00 Prerelease is your players' first opportunity to get their hands on the newest Magic: The Gathering release and explore what the set has to offer. Prerelease Packs contain everything a player needs to be guided through deck building and begin facing off in epic one-on-one matches. Return to Middle-earth and experience a timeless tale's grand beginning! Set out from The Shire with Bilbo, Gandalf, and their company of Dwarves in pursuit of fortune, adventure, and the dreadful Dragon Smaug. Amass and recruit your armies in the shadow of The Lonely Mountain, then battle it out to claim the treasures of Erebor! This is a two player Sealed Deck. Sealed Deck is the perfect event for new players and returning players alike. In a Sealed Deck event you get 6 packs that you open and then build a 40 card deck out of (we provide the basic lands so don't worry about those!) The unique and cool thing about Two-Headed Giant is you get to do that with a friend, a partner, a parent, a kid... whoever! You combine your 12 packs and make two decks out of them, so the general power level of the decks ends up being a lot higher! In Two-Headed Giant, the life total is shared and starts at 30 life. In Two-Headed Giant, each two-player teams shares a starting 30 life and takes their turn simultaneously. The team does not share any other resources other than life. For instance, any reference to "you" on a card still applies to the individual holder. Effects that read "each opponent" or "each player", however, affect each team member separately. Players can block any creatures that are attacking them, their teammates or Planeswalkers their team controls.
